My husband and I purchased a new home with a warranty and when our hot water tank was leaking we needed to use our home warranty to fix it. By chance we looked up Global online and saw all the bad reviews and prepared for the worst outcome. To our surprise we had no problems. We noticed the water on the floor on Sunday and by Tuesday we had a new water tank. They replaced it with a better unit than what we had and the guy that came out here did quality work. We are pleased with how all this turned out because this repair would have cost us $ 1400.00

MY WARRANTY CONTRACT WAS INCLUDED WITH THE PURCHASE OF OUR HOME IN MAY 2009. JULY AND THE SUMMER HEAT CAME, UNFORTUNATELY OUR AIR CONDITIONER WOULD NOT WORK. I CALLED GLOBAL HOME USA AND WAS GREETED IN A FRIENDLY, COURTEOUS MANNER. THEY ADVISED THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE A CERTIFIED TECH. IN OUR AREA. THEY SUGGESTED THAT I CALL A TECH TO CHECK THINGS OUT AND TO CALL THEM. THE TECH I CALLED CAME, CHECKED OUT THE SYSTEM. HE SPOKE TO GLOBAL FROM MY HOME AND RECEIVED THE AUTHORIZATION TO MAKE THE REPAIR ON THE SPOT. SINCE THE TECH WAS NOT A GLOBAL HOME USA AUTHORIZED TECHNICIAN, I HAD TO PAY THE REPAIR LESS MY $50 DEDUCTIBLE. MY $850 REIMBURSEMENT CAME IN A TIMELY MANNER. I HAVE HAD ADDITIONAL CLAIMS SINCE, AND ALL WERE HANDLED PROFESSIONALLY. I HAVE READ THE REVIEWS POSTED ON THIS WEBSITE, AND MY CONCLUSION WOULD BE THAT YOU CANNOT JUDGE A COMPANY BASED ON AS FEW AS FOUR REVIEWS. THIS CERTAINLY IS NOT A FAIR REPRESENTATION OF GLOBAL HOME USA CONTRACT HOLDERS.

I received this warranty when I purchased my 9 year old home. I used it this year for three separate repairs on my boiler and once on my air conditioning unit. The first two times I requested a company and had to pay out of pocket but was reimbursed the full amount minus my $75.00 deductible. The next two times Global sent their own contractors which were excellent. It was easier because the contractor was willing to go through the phone interrogation regarding the problem whereas the contractors I had, didn’t have the patience. All of my problems occurred late night and they gave me approval to get someone right away and pay the late night fee (I had no heat during the winter). The customer service is an answering machine so you have to wait for someone to call you back. The negative – I used the warranty four times for at least $3000.00 so they are not willing to renew. I am bummed because I have had nothing but a great experience and I am reading all other warranty company reviews and afraid I will pick a lousy one. I strongly recommend Global Home USA/Warranty Global Group.

Used the service on 3 occasions in a years time. First was regarding my HVAC, everything went great I was very satisfied. Second was my Toilet was rocking and needed a new flange. I called their customer support and explained the problem. The arrogant man that answered began explaining to me how a toilet works, and telling me that I need to make sure that it isn’t the wax ring or I would be charged. I asked if the flange would be covered he stated it would. So… I pulled up the toilet and verified the flange was in fact broken and it wasn’t the wax ring. I called to confirm the appointment and had someone come out the next day. The plumber spent 1 hour with his saw replacing the flange stating it was one of the hardest ones hes ever had. He then explains to me after the work is done that he forgot to get authorization for the service, I told him it shouldn’t be a problem because I already verified the flange was covered. He called and shortly was told it would not be covered and I would be responsible for the $250 charge. I got on the phone and spoke with another operator who said he was a supervisor (isn’t everyone), he told me the plumber said that the flange was decrepit and rusted which caused the flange to break. Obviously I knew this wasn’t the case because I had removed the toilet earlier and checked, not to mention I had been standing beside the plumber when he called them. I explained to the manager that he was lieing and the plumber never said that, I went further to have the plumber tell him he was lieing also. I told him I would not be paying more than my $50 deductible. He then said he would forward a letter up asking to have it covered. After a few days I called back and found that they in-fact did cover it. I called the plumber and he said that they had received payment. The third time I used my warranty it was regarding my dishwasher, they sent out a repairman the day after I called, he explained to me that my dishwasher was “gunked up” and that I needed to stop using liquid detergent, switch to powder and use Tang drink mix to try and fix the loud noise coming from my dishwasher. I followed all these steps and found that the motor needed to be replaced. It was determined that the price of repair outweighed the value so the warranty company said they would give me a credit to buy a new one. I went and purchased a new dishwasher and emailed the receipt to them the same day. I called after about two weeks to check on the status of the refund check. They explained it was being looked at and I would receive a check soon. I called a week later and found that no one knew what was going on just that it was being processed. A week later I called and was told it should be mailed out soon. This continued for an entire month, it took approximately 10 phone calls to finally receive the check. The company is terrible save your time and money, go with another home warranty

My husband and I purchased our first home last year and had Global Home USA’s warranty written into the contract. Even though most of the appliances that came with the house were older (that was the main reason we wanted the warranty), none of them had any catastrophic failures until a couple months ago, when the the control panel in our stove began to malfunction. My husband called the company and got the same kind of run-around that everyone else on this review board has had trouble with. We were pretty sure we had been duped and were only fortunate because we hadn’t actually been the ones to pay for the warranty – the seller did. Ironically, we got a renewal notice from Global during same period that we were trying to make our claim… However, in spite of all this, my review is not a negative review, in fact, based on what happened in the end, I may even be inclined to have Global warranties on every other home I purchase in the future, if the appliances are not brand new. My husband ended up calling the president of the company, who handled our claim himself. We chose to purchase a new stove rather than have the older one repaired, and Keys off set our expense by reimbursing us for the cost of parts and labor to have repaired the old stove. I agree with everyone else here that the customer service department is the worst I have ever dealt with – with maybe an exception for Bank of America a couple of years ago…but ultimately, the company honored their product, and we are satisfied customer. We got what we believed was fair compensation for our claim, and are not trying to “get something for nothing” as I’m sure many of the naysayers are complaining about. Also, anyone who might be doing their homework before they purchase a warranty, or may be trying to start their claim themselves, remember that most people who take the time to post reviews do so because they have had a bad experience. My own experience was resolved nearly a month ago, and because I was happy with the outcome, it was too easy for me to forget to post a review until now. If you are having trouble with your claim right now, my advice is to take it to the top, and be professional, but relentless, and have your documentation in order.

I bought a home 4 months ago and bought their plan about 3 months ago. My dishwasher broke and so I called to make a claim, they informed me that I would receive a call from a repair company in 8 hours… well 2 days went by and they called to let me know that they have been unable to locate someone to repair my dishwasher in FLORIDA, not Orlando, Central Florida Area, but FLORIDA! They then instructed me to take care of it myself, pay out of pocket, then Submit all the paperwork and they will review it to decide whether it will be covered under the warranty. ARE YOU KIDDING!?!?!? Isn’t that what I paid Global Home USA over $500 to take care of?

I recently had a claim ,filed with Global Home ,and I first off want to say that the service was above expectation,The claim rep helped me understand the policy and how the claim process works,The company also was timely and did advise of call the proper disclosure issues,(the company will not know coverage till they have a diagnosis from a licensed professional),I have read the previous post and am quite disturbed by the lack of contract reading, I for one would recommend the company to all my friends and family.

My contractor quoted $1245 to replace the heat exchanger on my gas furnace. Global Home USA offered me $695. After repeated attempts to talk to a supervisor you get transferred to voicemail. One week without a furnace in winter and NOBODY at Global will call you back. This is a terrible company. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS WARRANTY !!!
