I have the Same story as the countless other postings on this site. My Ac unit wasn’t cooling – allied sent LSR to check the unit. They found leaking A coils and gave me an estimate of $2900 to replace them- Allied would pay $ 1200 and I was responsible for $1700. They refused to break down the estimate for parts / labor and tried strong arm tactics to get me to pay for the repair right hen. I refused. After getting a second estimate from another vendor for $875 I realized this company is a rip off. Allied was included in the purchase of my home so I didn’t research them. I am canceling my contract and looking for a reputable warranty company. DO NOT BUY A WARRANTY FROM THIS COMPANY. – Marc, San Antonio TX

My dishwasher went out rather than replace or repair the item they opted to go with a cash out option for $268.00. I paid $600.00 for the dishwasher less than 2 years ago. When I called and tried to complain the customer service representative was not helpful at all and when i asked to speak with a manager I was told there were in meetings and i would have to leave a voicemail. So far my calls have not been returned. I would recommend American Home Shield (the home warranty company on our previous home) over Allied any day.

This is for the ELECTRIC department. We had some outlets die. Bryon came out & within 10 minutes he had found the outlet that caused the failure, replaced it & was done. He also gave me an honest, unbiased opinion of my out of date breaker panel-Federal Pacific Electric-& gave me an estimate to have it replaced, which he is doing right now. I would give this company 0 stars if I could DO NOT TRUST THEM!!! This company is a huuge scam I have a leak in my house and a plumber came out and spent not even 10 minutes looking at the wall and said he has no clue where it is and he has to take out the toilet, so we said ok no big deal, but then he says we have to pay an extra $200 for him just to remove the toilet and he isn’t even sure if that’s where te leak is coming from so he asks for his 60$ an leaves. All they want is your money everytime they come out they ask for soo much o fix one problem then when we call a local company it’s more than half the price.. – Mufida – Katy, TX

I would give them 0 starts if possible. You pay premiums for very little. On several occasions, we have experienced that the warranty covers very little/nothing. The trades that they contract with show late or not at all, inflate billing, and/suggest repairs that are unneccessary. One AC repair man actually cried as he told me about past AC repair employers that made him overbill. He recommended that we pay $1700/Allied $800 (approved by Allied). We got a second opinion and learned that the repair was unnecessary. Save you money. Don’t buy from Allied. Ron B.

CALLED BACK SUNDAY MORNING TO SEE WAS ANYBODY COMING…NO THEY DIDN’T, I ENDED UP GOING TO LOWES TO BUY IT MYSELF AND PAY TO GET IT INSTALLED BECASUE MY GARAGE WAS TOTALLY FULL OF WATER….THE COMPANY IS A SCAM AND THEY REALLY SHOULDN’T BE IN BUSINESS AT ALL. I CALLED TO SEE IF I COULD BE REIMBURSED FOR SOME OF MY MONEY AND I WAS TOLD NO BECAUSE I’VE ALREADY HAD IT INSTALLED. THE NERVES THEY HAVE. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! we have had several problems, the worse has been with our AC units. the first time they sent out Lone Star Repair (also known as NRG). We called them because our AC was blowing warm air. when Lone Star repair came out, he said our AC wasn’t blowing at all and that we needed a new AC. I had a bad feeling, so we got a second opinion…and the other company said that our AC was unplugged from the unit, and all it needed was Freon. They told us they would put in our file not to ever send that company to our house again. about 2 months later, here we are with AC problems (with our OTHER unit) I called them to schedule an appointment, and guess what, they called lone star repair to come out…we called allied to remind them of the fact that they said they put down in our files they would never send that company out again, but they said that they had already given the business to lone star and they were not taking it back…..I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT NOONE EVER IN THEIR RIGHT MIND CHOOSE THIS COMPANY. – Disgruntled Customer, Allen, TX

If you are deciding on a home warranty company, think twice before using this one. I am still waiting on a formal return call to explain a service request and this all started May 27th, and it is now June 6th!! Every time you call and request higher attention, the operators say they are out of the office or in a meeting- no personal attention what so ever. One of the phone operators even said she could not send an explanation for why our request was denied because they hadn’t where in the contract that said it wasn’t covered- the manager just said it was not. We had Aleah in our water pipe- even in their sales pitch online it states pipe leaks are covered. Our feeling of this company is that they are sneaky and non trust-worthy….go with someone else, I know we will. We will also being very loud telling others what a terrible experience we had with them!

More of the same as the other reviews. A quick search will confirm that Allied/Lonestar/NRG share corporate roots. Of course they will send out their own repair service, of course the repair service will tell you 1,000 stories of why you will be out of pocket. This is a legal scam. The best thing you can do is inform your realtors (who have been regularly wined and dined by Allied sales reps) Realtors will not want to recommend bottom feeding companies like Allied/Lonestar/NRG to their clients. The next think you need to do is cancel your home warranty with Allied. I dont know who else to trust as I also had difficulties with Home Shield. In my case my AC went out, the Lonestar/NRG tech at first had me fooled that it was my bad luck that Allied couldnt cover anything, and I was out of pocket. then when you scratch the surface with BBB and corporate wiki it snaps into focus. It is worth the extra effort to have a more customer focused AC company give you estimated to compare with Lonestar/NRG…it is so obvious what they are up to. – Ryan, Tomball, TX

This group trys very hard, but if you have a recurring problem, and their contractor of choice takes over 30 days to fix the problem, YOU have to contact Allied, otherwise they say your problem is “new” and they bill you again the $60. So, if their contractor of choice takes longer than 30 days, you will get billed another $60 charge!!!
